About to open a retail store

So a friend and I are about to open a retail store selling bike parts and accessories in Bangalore, India. But before we do we have to get registered and do the legal stuff. Any sort of word of advice or any suggestions or tips on how to go about it or how to get it done or even after we open the shop would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time🙏🏽

Unless you absolutely have to get all the registration and whatnot done, I'd avoid doing that and just start selling. Bangalore is a big city and you can get away hawking stuff on the side of the road to see if there is a lot of demand. If there is, then go ahead and do all the paperwork and rent the store. If you need the paperwork done, it's India, just pay or bribe someone.

Once the store is open, make sure your marketing is really good. Good signage and also have an updated website with your current stock so people can see what you have before they come in. Make sure all spelling, images and information on your marketing is perfect. Have amazing customer service - pick up the phone, be polite, smile at customers, maybe everyone wears the same t-shirt as a uniform.
