"Foreign" and "Domestic" LLC, Michigan vs California

Hello and thanks for reading.

I lost my job during the pandemic. At the time I was living in California, but I moved back to my home state in Michigan. I would like to start my own business, helping small architecture and construction firms with their proposals and marketing. I want to be able to travel around and be a digital nomad as they call it. Here are my questions:

My bank account and home address will be in Michigan, but most of my clients will be in California. Is this going to be more work? Do I also need to register in California and every state I take on clients?

I am a registered Native American and also a women, can this help me at all?

I know I should probably get a lawyer to help me with all of this but I can't afford one right now. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

First I’m from Michigan and moved to California about 9 years ago lol. But anyways you don’t need to register anywhere except where your living you also don’t need to do state sales tax unless it’s in the state you are doing business from until you hit $100,000 in sales. So you if you live in Michigan but all the sales are in California you don’t pay sales tax until you do $100,000 in California but any business you do in Michigan you need to pay sales tax
