Lost Access to FB Profile & now can’t access my Business Page anymore - what should I do now?

I have just founded a company and we set up our social media some time ago: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. Our social media manager created a new Facebook profile with a fake name & a business page. I didn’t see anything wrong with this, but I’m also not a tech guy. A few months in, Facebook now requires a proof of identity for this profile, which, of course, we don’t have. It’s only from this one account that can access the Business page.

We are / I am not sure what to do now? I’m worried the business page we set up won’t be deleted now and stay up forever? Also, I’m worried to talk to Facebook about this, and what to tell them, read some horrible stories.

What would be the most reasonable thing to do now? 🙁thanks a lot!

They will probably require you to prove it’s your business some way.

Then add yourself as an admin on that page and create your own business manager too with your own oage.

I can’t do that since the account that was created for that is blocked now

Have a look into merging accounts.

Thanks a lot. I looked it up and it says:

If you have 2 Facebook Pages for the same thing, you may be able to merge them if:

  • You're an admin of both Pages.
  • Your Pages have similar names and represent the same thing.
  • Your Pages have the same address, if they have physical locations.

I am an admin on the page still, I guess, with the fake account? Not sure that would count though?

You have to either talk to Facebook or make a new business page.

I wouldn’t worry about talking to Facebook. They want business pages, specifically they want you to have the ability to boost posts and advertise, that’s how they continue to exist.

Don’t even tell them it was a fake profile. Just tell them the employee that set up the page no longer works for you and you need to reassign access to the page.

Thanks a lot for your reply, I’m stressing out a bit right now. I’ve heard stories of Facebook just banning people & businesses out of the blue for life and no reason.

So you’d suggest that I create a new profile with my real name (I actually don’t have a Facebook profile myself) and then ask them to reassign the page? Won’t they be suspicious as my new account won’t be connected to the business page in any way? Thanks a lot already, your reply really helped me to calm down a bit.
