Starting a Business right after graduating?

I’m going to university for Accounting and want to start a bookkeeping firm after graduating. I want to take risks while I’m still young.

Does anybody know anyone that has done this.

Ideally after graduating with my Accounting degree I would like to start my own bookkeeping firm instead of getting a job at a firm.

If you haven't yet, my advice is to go travel (sans pandemic).

My cousin did this and was making 250k net at 22. He sat down with his parents after graduating and told them to let him borrow 10,000 and give him 3 months alone. He came back with a successful business. He said it was like a fun game and it motivated him even more knowing he only had 3 months otherwise he would get a job at a firm and get more experience first.

Though starting a business isn’t for everyone. Make sure you have enough internship experience and are confident in your abilities to manage a business.

Wow! That’s very impressive.

I would like to do something similar, I would try it for about 3-4 months and if it doesn’t work out then I’ll work at a firm and get more experience

250k net at 22 is very impressive.

Don’t stress too much. Taking calculated risks at a young age can be very rewarding.

The key is to hire employees, my cousin was 22 with 2 employees and was making 250k yearly. He barley did any work himself he mostly focused on marketing and management.

If OP gets internship and work experience during university I don’t think this is necessary.

Many university offer internships, co-op programs and jobs during university.

I agree, this does seem possible.

You should try to take a quickbooks class now & also work on getting a few clients now while in school.
