A few people messaged to hear my voice, so I made a short recording today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvl8PrBtx9k&feature=youtu.be

As I said, it's quite a soft voice and I could make it even softer if I bothered.

Now that you have some context, I'd love to hear your feedback on whether it's good enough for me to do anything with. Where can you imagine hearing it?

There are many ways you can use your voice , whether it be ads ,audiobooks or asmr all up to you. Good luck and you have a great voice would definitely fall asleep to

What did you record the voice on? A professional microphone, pop filter and some editing can do a lot to change the voice. When talking casually with friends is your pitch and tone and intonation similar to the recording?

I could see your voice in instructional videos or product demos

Nothing fancy - I just recorded it on my iPhone with the voice memos app.

As you grow, explore some more professional tools and equipment but you can start slowly and improvise. For example, a popular TV host in the US, Mike Rowe did a lot of voice overs on his shows, but he was always on the road, so he sat on a hotel room bed, threw a heavy blanket over his head and recorded the voice overs to reduce the room echo. You can replicate this by sitting in a full clothes closet until you can afford a recording booth box https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1244152-REG/pyle_pro_psib27_sound_recording_booth_box.html

A good microphone makes a world of difference at reducing exterior noise. Heil PR40 or Shure SM58 are good microphones. There are better ones out there, but these tro represent an excellent value. If you want a better mic, a Neumann U87 is very popular. Pop filters can reduce the hard “P” and “T” and soft “S” I hear in your recording. Being recorded on an iPhone, it sounded extremely good.

I had no idea about this sort of equipment. Thanks for your informative post!

Great voice, could listen to you narrating a book or something to help me relax and fall asleep.

Good voice and very clear pronunciation.

You may have to learn a new way to use it e.g. learning how to speak animatedly for animation voice over. Or even singing!

Not all talents are plug-and-play. Most actually require training to reach their potential.

This training, is the reason many artists are broke. They aren't willing to train...hard, or even at all.

As it is, you could settle for the ideas you already mentioned. But it would be wise to check the market. (i.e. asmr, meditations) My opinion is that voice acting and audiobook narration have a bigger market.
